This Year's Model Updates:

The Monte Carlo receives only minor changes for the 2003 model year. The base LS model has been upgraded with standard four-wheel disc brakes, traction control and remote keyless entry. Both the LS and SS models sport newly styled wheels, four new exterior colors and the option of adding XM Satellite Radio.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.
Cons:
  • Mediocre performance, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

  • Moved up from LS to SS - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

We had the 2000 LS and when it was time to trade in the car (we lease) we decided to jump to the SS just to see if the power was as they claim. It is! We have upgrades of the stero system, love the on the steering wheel controls, side air bag, anit-lock brakes, the traction control was fantastic in our mountain winter condtions - want that again! Have the milage, temperature, etc. readings on this one, fun but not needed. We plan on getting another SS in 2006.

Good american built car. Great freeway driver. 200 HP engine - more than enough to get through most daily traffic situations. I like that it does not look like most other cars.

I love my car. It is the 1st car I have purchased, and I could not have asked for more. It is fun and sporty, but still roomy and spacious on the inside. Its pretty fast for a car its size, and the body shap is inique. It has great curves, and there is not a car on the road that looks anything like it. The car drives like a dream, and in my opinion it handles really well. I love the color on my car, the color is called Berry Red Metalic, and I have not seen one in my area with the same color.

I turned in my 1999 Grand Prix at lease end and thought I wanted another one, but since they no longer make the 2-door model I decided to purchase the Monte Carlo...and Im glad I did! I love this car! I went with the SS model with the High Sport Appearance package...it is basically loaded except for the satellite radio (which I dont need anyway)...it is an absolutely beautiful car...Ive caught many people staring!...including myself!!! I cant wait for the nice warm weather to come back again so I can really show it off!

I was on my way home from work when I stopped by the dealer to check out some cars. The Monte Carlo SS with 50K on it for only 9 grand blew me away, I bought it inside an hour. I also test drove an 03 Mustang LX and a 99 Camaro Z28, this car almost compares to the Camaro, and its only a V6! with 100 HP less! The style of the car, and the SS trim is very very attractive. The car is spacious and comfortable inside, and the engine is very responsive, very touchy, I love it. Handling for a front wheel drive car is better than I predicted.

I love this car! Its a dark blue SS and I have 13000 miles on it. Gas mileage is great (average over 26 mpg), the interior is just perfect, both fit and finish and design, the 3800 is an increadible engine (great torque curve and reliablity).

I have only had my car for a few weeks now, but at this time I can truly say I love it. I have been wanting a yellow one for some time now and made up my mind that when my lease expired on my Blazer my next car would be a monte, yellow one!!!

I have had no bad experiences related to this vehicle. It even handled really well when i ran over a piece of sheet metal on the highway going about 70 miles an hour. Its comfortable and responsive.
